Ok, so a little while after The Misfits stopped playing, their lead singer (Glenn Danzig) started doing his own solo work. His first album ("Danzig") was much more metal-esque compared to his music with The Misfits, but it was still more hard rock than metal.
However, in 2004 he came out with "Circle Of Snakes," which has a much bigger metal influence. Both albums are great. If you like The Misfits, you will probably like Danzig.
He actually got pretty famous for his hit single called "Mother" (which is on the album "Danzig.")
P.S. Both albums actually have some pretty sick guitar playing involved.
